Built for everyone
What we have built in
This site was built to be used by everybody — including people with reduced vision, limited dexterity, colour blindness, or anyone simply reading on a phone in bright daylight. These are not add-ons bolted on at the end. They are part of how the site is put together.
- A skip to main content link — the first thing a keyboard or screen-reader user reaches.
- An accessibility panel (the icon on the left of every page) with three text sizes, a high-contrast mode, and an option to underline every link. Your choice is remembered on your device.
- Body text at 18px with generous line spacing, and a contrast ratio of about 10.9:1 — past the strictest WCAG level.
- Every button at least 44 pixels tall on touch screens, so they can be hit without precision.
- Full keyboard navigation, with a clearly visible focus outline on every link, button and form field.
- Alt text on every image, and decorative icons hidden from screen readers so they are not read out as noise.
- Proper page structure — one heading level per step, real landmarks, and labelled form fields.
- Animation switches itself off if your device is set to reduce motion.
- A back-to-top button on long pages.
Where we aim
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and most of the site meets AAA for text contrast. We are not claiming perfection. We are claiming that we test, and that we fix what we find.
If something does not work for you
Tell us and we will fix it. That is the whole policy. Call (503) 490-7724 or email Perfectchimney@gmail.com — and if the website itself is the barrier, we will simply take your details over the phone instead.
You never have to use this website
