How long does waterproofing last?
A quality breathable repellent typically protects for years — far longer than the freeze-thaw damage it prevents would take to appear.
Why breathable sealer?
Masonry must release vapor. A non-breathable coating traps moisture inside the brick, and winter freeze-thaw then destroys it from within.
Can you waterproof in winter?
Application needs dry conditions — fall before the rains is ideal. Book ahead of the season.
Does it change the chimney's appearance?
No — a proper repellent is invisible once cured.
