How Much Does A Chimney Sweep Cost In Portland?
Straight numbers, what actually changes them, and the three tricks that make one quote look cheaper than another when it is not.
$99 for the sweep. $149 with a full inspection.
Those are our published pre-season prices, not a starting-from figure. The regular price for the sweep plus inspection is $499. Repairs are always quoted free and in writing after you have seen the photographs.
Four things, and only four
A single fireplace flue is one job. A fireplace plus a furnace flue plus a wood stove is three, and honest pricing reflects that.
A chimney swept every year takes a fraction of the time of one that has not been touched in a decade.
A steep or very high roof takes longer and needs more equipment. It should be mentioned before the visit, never added after.
The sweep price never changes. Any repair is a separate, written, optional quote — and you are free to say no.
Six commitments, on every single job
The chimney trade has an upsell problem. These are the rules we hold ourselves to — read them, then hold us to them.
The number we quote is the number you pay. Our price never goes up once the technician is at your door.
You see what we see — every finding photographed, before and after. No trust-me diagnoses.
We tell you when your chimney is fine. Technicians are never paid to sell you repairs you don't need.

How much does a chimney sweep cost in Portland?
Ours is $99 during the pre-season offer, or $149 with a full photo-documented inspection. The regular price for that visit is $499. Across the Portland metro generally, published prices for a sweep plus inspection run from about $150 to $300.
Why do quotes vary so much between companies?
Three reasons. Some quote a sweep only and add the inspection later. Some price by flue rather than per visit. And some advertise a low number that is a diagnostic fee, not the actual clean. Ask what is included before you compare.
Is a cheap chimney sweep a bad sign?
Not necessarily — but a very low advertised price with an upsell on arrival is the oldest trick in this trade. The protection is a company that publishes its price and puts the quote in writing before starting.
What does a chimney inspection cost on its own?
Companies in the metro charge roughly $69 to $150 for a standalone inspection. We include a full inspection with a sweep for $149, which is why almost nobody books them separately.
How much is chimney repair?
There is no honest single number — tuckpointing and a full rebuild are different jobs. What you should expect from anyone is photographs of the damage and one written price before work begins.
Do you charge a trip or travel fee?
No. Anywhere inside our roughly 50-mile service radius is the same price.
How often do I need to pay for this?
Once a year. NFPA 211, the national standard, calls for an annual inspection, and cleaning whenever the inspection calls for it.
