What we found
An open masonry fireplace that pulled more heat out of the room than it produced. The owners wanted real heat without giving up the fireplace.
What we did
We fitted a gas insert into the existing opening, ran a correctly sized stainless liner up the flue, made the gas connection, tested it and finished the surround.
Why it mattered
An open fireplace can be a net heat loss on a cold night. The same opening with an insert becomes a genuine heat source, and it runs on a switch.
